Natalia Horecna was born in Bratislava/Slovakia, where she studied at the Dance Conservatory Bratislava from 1987 to 1994.
During this time she already performed with the Slovakian National Theatre in "Swan Lake", "The Nutcracker" and in the opera production "The Glass Menagerie" based on a play by Tennessee Williams.
In 1994, she became a member of THE HAMBURG BALLET where she stayed as Soloist until 2003. From 2003 to 2006 she danced at the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam and became a member of the Nederlands Dans Theater I in 2006, where she worked closely with Jirí Kylián, Sol Leon, Paul Lightfoot, Mats Ek, Crystal Pite and others.
Since 2007 she is also working as choreographer and teacher. Among her most recent works are "Pollice Verso" (2010), "Day" (2010), "As if it happened" (2010), "Funeral Purgatorial" (2011) and "The Night" (2011), all for the Nederlands Dans Theater I.
