Wubkje Kuindersma, was born in Cameroon with Dutch nationality. She graduated at the Rotterdam Dance Academy and danced with Nürnberg Ballet, Djazzex, Gulbenkian Ballet, Random Dance, Danish Dance Theater and in several projects.
Her first choreography Aquasomnia received a special award for originality of movement vocabulary and outstanding movement quality at the choreographic Competition U30 in Cologne (2010).
For The Noverre Society in Stuttgart she choreographed "Hiraeth" (2013) and "Sketched Skin" (2014) for dancers of Stuttgart Ballet. Kevin Haigen noticed her work and invited her to create for das Bundesjugendballett. Since then she has choreographed several works for them.
For the program "Here We Live and Now", a production from Korzo and The Netherlands Dance Theatre, she choreographed "Play Dead" (2014) and "Doubleyou" (2015).
In May 2016 she received the "BNG Dance Award for Excellent Talent for Choreography", an award which supports and promotes the work of young choreographers with a national tour through The Netherlands. "Doubleyou" was part of the Korzo Dansclick-tour.
Since then Wubkje choreographed a.o. for Danish Dance Theatre, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Dantzaz, Firma Mes, Dutch National Ballet Junior Company. For the Dutch National Ballet she choreographed "Two and Only" (2017), which is performed internationally.
