BALLET BY AUGUST BOURNONVILLE
NAPOLI – Pas de Six

Choreography
Auguste Bournonville

Music
Edvard Helsted

Staging
Lloyd Riggins
Ingrid Glindemann

Although the main task of the BUNDESJUGENDBALLETT is the study of contemporary young choreography and their own creativity, the classical academic ballet is the technical basis of the small company, as it is of THE HAMBURG BALLETT. In this respect the BUNDESJUGENDBALLETT works on important choreographies of the past as well as focuses on classical training and point-shoe-classes. The Pas de six from the masterpiece "Napoli" by the Danish choreographer August Bournonville of 1842 is an important lesson in technique and style.

John Neumeier (2012 – translated from German)
